Walmart Canada announced the expansion of its Online Grocery Pickup service to 12 Greater Toronto Area stores. With this service, customers can now beat the elements with convenience while continuing to enjoy Walmart's low prices. Online Grocery Pickup offers shoppers the ability to select grocery items online at Walmart.ca and have them ready for pickup at their local participating Walmart store. Customers simply place their order from the comfort of their home or on the go then choose a pickup time and location that is convenient for them. They then pull into a dedicated online grocery pickup parking spot, call a dedicated phone line and their order is brought outside and loaded into their vehicle in minutes.
"We know Canadians are busy – busy parents, busy professionals, and busy families – which means they are also looking for ways to save time," said Simon Rodrigue, senior vice president, ecommerce, Walmart Canada. "We are thrilled to bring the convenience of our Online Grocery Pickup service to the GTA to give our customers a convenient way to find what they need and save money. And best of all, when it's cold and wet out there, customers using this service don't have to leave their car to pick up their order," he said.
The Online Grocery Pickup service offers customers a selection of Walmart's top-quality selection of everyday grocery items, including produce, meat, dairy and bread, all backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. Trained, dedicated grocery shoppers have been hired at all participating locations to ensure items are carefully hand-picked and packaged with care. Starting today, grocery orders for pick up can be placed on Walmart.ca. Customers can begin placing online orders today at six locations. The service will begin accepting online orders at six additional stores on February 18. The fee for online grocery pickup is $3 and customers are able to order up to 21 days in advance.
Over the past year, Walmart Canada has grown its product offering to include a wider selection of fresh groceries. Walmart Supercentres now carry a variety of imported top grade fruits and vegetables as well as domestic Canada No.1 and Canada Fancy grade fruits and vegetables in addition to an expanded selection of organic produce and Canadian-certified organic products. Fresh meats include Your Fresh Market 100% Canadian Angus Beef, Maple Leaf Chicken, Pork and Sausage, and Canadian Salmon. An assortment of these products as well as a broad range of everyday grocery items will be available to customers using the Online Grocery Pickup service.
