Insight North America (“Insight”), a subsidiary of Insight Enterprises Inc. announced its 2005 launch of an array of affordable IT solutions designed to solve clients’ business challenges, including regulatory compliance, wireless connectivity and IT security. The solutions complement the technology products Insight has successfully sold for years and represent a logical extension of Insight’s business beyond product fulfillment.

“Businesses are increasingly demanding tangible value-add and a return on their IT investments,” said Janet Waxman, vice president of channels research at IDC. “Companies such as Insight, that have a solutions-focused delivery model, are well positioned to deliver on this requirement.”

To facilitate the expansion of its business model, Insight put in place a Services Division specifically focused on the development and marketing of creative IT solutions to be delivered by Insight technicians and its supplier partners. The new division performed months of analysis to determine the kinds of solutions best suited to meet the needs of Insight’s clients based on surveys, purchasing trends and client demand. They placed particular emphasis on affordable solutions that would appeal to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) as well as enterprise and public-sector clients.

“Insight has long recognized that the key to retaining current clients and winning new ones will be a mix of IT products and services that help solve clients’ business challenges,” said Richard Fennessy, president and CEO of Insight Enterprises. “By offering affordable solutions that add measurable value to our product fulfillment business, Insight will help its clients reduce costs and improve efficiencies. For years, companies have looked to us as a trusted technology fulfillment partner, and we are extending that trust with services that will help our clients grow and succeed.”

The solutions form the foundation of Insight’s proposition to combine technology products and lifecycle services to create custom-tailored solutions that meet clients’ unique requirements, and fall under five general categories:

—Mobilize IT: Assesses an organization’s mobility needs, and develops enterprisewide connectivity strategies for the mobile workforce including wireless WANs, wireless LANs and VoIP.

—Secure IT: Provides valuable security assessment services that help clients identify vulnerabilities in their IT infrastructure, and recommends and implements appropriate security solutions.

—Manage IT: Assesses the client’s IT infrastructure and helps identify where companies can save money and boost performance by consolidating and upgrading their hardware.

—Store IT: Identifies customized cost-saving storage solutions to improve the protection and retrieval of data, boost the business’ overall performance, and ensure compliance with new regulations that require businesses to store and protect customer data.

—Print IT: Measures and documents printing costs within an organization, and provides services and strategies to help clients lower costs through upgrading and consolidating printing resources.

For each of the five solution areas, Insight provides strategic resources to help clients throughout the complete IT lifecycle, including business assessment, product design and deployment, integration services, asset tagging, asset disposal, warranty programs, financing and project management. The ability to offer total solutions, backed by unmatched technical expertise and advanced integration and configuration capabilities, leaves Insight uniquely poised to benefit from the growing demand for complete solutions.

“One of the most encouraging aspects of our solutions strategy has been the enthusiastic reception of our supplier partners,” Fennessy said. “Whenever we provide value-added services to our clients, it means more business for our partners. This is clearly a win-win situation for all parties involved. Insight can enjoy expanded opportunities with its clients, offering them greater value while opening new doors for our suppliers.”

Coinciding with the 2005 launch is a national advertising program that showcases Insight’s expertise in meeting client needs with the new solutions. Print advertisements are running in national business and trade publications, as well as in targeted markets in which Insight has a significant presence.
