Samsung Electronics Canada continues to
build on its reputation of merging innovative LCD technology and stylish
design with the release of its new LCD HDTV model, the Series 8 850 – the
slimmest LCD HDTV on the market.

The Samsung 850 sports the latest in Samsung’s ToC (Touch of
Colour design and features a narrow rose-coloured bezel and built-in
tuner.

At half the width of a conventional flat-panel television – only 1.9
inches in depth at its widest point – users can appreciate the beauty of the
TV when turned off and its superior picture quality when it’s turned on.

“The release of the Series 8 850 is a proof point to our dedication in
offering our consumers new products and applications that enhance their
television viewing experience,” says Robert Gumiela, Senior Marketing Manager,
Consumer Electronics, Samsung Electronics Canada. “While providing exceptional
picture quality is always our top priority, Samsung is also focused on
creating technology that fits with the design of the home.”

Superior Picture Quality

Taking picture clarity and crispness to the next level, the Series 8 850
delivers a sharp HD 1080p picture with a 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The
850 also features Samsung’s Ultra Clear Panel, designed to improve contrast
ratios and produce deep black levels regardless of the room’s lighting
conditions.

Through the Auto Motion Plus 120Hz(TM), users can enjoy a smoother
viewing experience without the motion blur caused by fast-paced content –
making this series ideal for die-hard sports fans and avid gamers.

Digital Content and Management

The Series 8 also offers a host of connection options for users to enjoy
a growing library of digital content. Simply plug a memory drive or digital
camera in the side-mounted USB 2.0 port and Samsung’s WiseLink(TM) Pro turns
the television into a jukebox or photo album; allowing for MP3, JPEG, XviD and
MPEG4 files to be read.

Sleek Design

Through the ToC design, Samsung uses dual-injection molding technology to
embed colour into the television bezel. Since colour is infused and not
painted on, no volatile organic compounds (VOC) are emitted during the
production process; reducing CO(2) emissions.

Availability

The Series 8 LCD HDTVs will be available in September and offered in 46
and 52-inch sizes. The televisions will be offered at an MSRP of $3,199.99 and
$3,799.99.
