Fujitsu Computer Products of America,
Inc. today
announced the introduction of its new Fujitsu fi-5750C color, low-volume
production scanner equipped with the latest breakthroughs in document imaging
technology and features. The Fujitsu fi-5750C, which will officially be
unveiled at AIIM 2004 Exposition and Conference, March 8-10 at the Javits
Convention Center in New York City, includes state of the art ultrasonic
double-feed detection technology, allowing users to prevent lost images and
enabling larger batches of mixed document types to be scanned quickly,
reliably, and automatically.

In addition, the new Fujitsu fi-5750C scanner comes equipped with a unique
200-page rotating automatic document feeder (ADF) to accommodate right and
left handed users, as well as a fully adjustable 300-page exit stacker. To
further separate this revolutionary scanner from the competition, the Fujitsu
fi-5750C includes two independent methods to detect document double-feeds with
the addition of length sensors to its ultrasonic double-feed detection
technology. Either detection method can be used separately or combined to
accommodate a wide variety of document environments.

“Fujitsu’s new scanner breaks traditional barriers by providing high
quality images with fast color scanning at an affordable price point,” said
Susan Moyse, analyst at InfoTrends Research Group, Inc. “Fujitsu has also
added important ease-of-use features and throughput enhancements that will
make this offering a strong competitor.”

The Fujitsu fi-5750C, the fastest and most feature-rich color scanner in
the low-volume production class, continues to offer customers best in class
scanning and incredible value in document management functionality with its
high speed dual color CCD arrays to scan both sides of a page in one pass,
600 dots-per-inch (dpi) optical resolution, and scanning speed of up to
57 pages-per-minute (ppm)/114 images-per-minute (ipm) at 200 and 300 dpi in
color, grayscale or monochrome, or 71 ppm/142 ipm in landscape mode. Other
key features of the Fujitsu fi-5750C scanner include:

— Dual interface of Ultra SCSI and Hi-Speed USB 2.0
— Simplified windows based scanner control panel
— Color deskew and automatic document size detection
— Long document scanning up to 34″
— Blank page removal
— Document scanning from 11 lb to 54 lbs
— Daily duty cycle of up to 8,000 documents per day
— An oversize flatbed at 12″ x 18″, with a special design for ease of
book scanning

“The Fujitsu fi-5750C provides customers with the best
price-to-performance ratio in the document imaging industry,” said Victor Kan,
senior director of product and channel marketing, Imaging Products Group,
FCPA. “This scanner is the first in the market to exemplify the kind of cost
versus functionality that customers are demanding in the low-volume production
class. With its combination of high speed, unique ADF design, and aggressive
price-to-performance ratio, there is ample reason for this to be the standard
all scanners in the category are judged by.”

The Fujitsu fi-5750C comes bundled with the full version of Adobe(R)
Acrobat(R) 6.0 Standard and ScandAll 21(TM). Fujitsu also offers customers an
optional field upgrade kit to integrate Kofax’s newest version of
VirtualReScan(R) automated document image-perfecting software and
Adrenaline(R) 650iLV SCSI interface boards. FCPA’s Imaging Products Group
(IPG) has priced the fi-5750C scanner starting at $8,995.00 (U.S. list).

The new Fujitsu fi-5750C low-volume production scanner is available
through authorized resellers, VARs, and distributors including Compucenter
