Christmas has come early for Rogers Sportsnet hockey fans with the introduction of the Hockeycentral iPad App, powered by sportsnet.ca, which is now available today at the Apple App Store and just in time for the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

iPad owners can go to the App Store and download the Hockeycentral iPad App for free. The App features Hockeycentral analysts Nick Kypreos, Doug MacLean and host Daren Millard providing comprehensive coverage at the World Junior Tournament during the Semifinal match-ups on Monday, January 3rd, including the Bronze and Gold Medal games on Wednesday, January 5th. In addition, sportsnet.ca columnist Patrick King will offer daily previews, recaps, player features and Twitter updates throughout the tournament. Kypreos, MacLean and Millard will also present full coverage during the 2011 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Sunday, January 1st for the Hockeycentral iPad App.

“We know our hockey fans expect immediate access to NHL news and their favourite teams in the digital era”, said Scott Moore, President, Rogers Broadcasting. “The Hockeycentral iPad App will provide fans with a best in class presentation for all their hockey needs and plug them into the top hockey insiders in the industry.”

The Hockeycentral iPad App is specifically designed to keep NHL fans connected for all scores, stats and breaking news on Twitter from the Hockeycentral panel, including insider posts and blogs. The Hockeycentral iPad App will also give junior hockey fans complete coverage from the Canadian Hockey League.
