Certicell announces that George Hotz, the teen whiz who famously unlocked the Apple iPhone will be presented with his brand new Nissan 350Z on Friday, August 31 at 2:00 PM ET at the Certicell headquarters located in Louisville, KY. The presentation will be followed immediately by a media Q&A session.

Late last week, Mr. Hotz revealed that during summer break he developed a process for untethering the Apple iPhone from the AT&T network, to which Apple and AT&T have an exclusive distribution agreement. This process allows the iPhone to work on other GSM compatible networks such as T-Mobile. More important, these phones can be used in Europe where cellular networks are extensively GSM.

On August 27th, Hotz and Certicell jointly announced an agreement for the famous iPhone and the related unlocking technology. As part of the transaction, Mr. Hotz also agreed to a consulting agreement with the company. In exchange, Mr. Hotz will receive a new Nissan 350Z along with three new iPhones. The transaction will occur at Certicell headquarters on Friday, August 31st.

Additionally, on Friday, September 14th, Certicell will formally announce on its website its intentions for the Apple iPhone.

Media representatives are invited to attend the 2:00 PM event where Mr. Hotz and company representatives will be available to answer questions related to the transaction. The event will be held at the company headquarters located at 5574 Shepherdsville Rd., Louisville, KY 40228.
