Apple has announced that they have now sold more than 10 billion songs from their iTunes digital media store.
It took the company seven long years to achieve this incredible milestone.
The growth rate has been pretty incredible for the company though. It took them three years to reach the first billion milestone. Apple iTunes had sold three billion tracks by July 2007.
The five billion mark was reached in June 2008. And the next five billion took them less than two years!
Apple iTunes is the largest seller of music in the US market dominating retail giants like Wal-Mart.
It remains to be seen what Apple has planned for their iTunes store for the future.
