Oracle announced the availability of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management 9.0, delivering significant enhancements to help improve performance and efficiencies across an organization. This release is the first set of available applications in the PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.0 suite (please see related release), and demonstrates Oracle’s commitment to delivering on its plan to continually enhance its applications as part of the “Applications Unlimited” program.

Companies can now be equipped for better compliance with increasingly complex multinational regulatory requirements, can offer users disconnected learning capabilities and can benefit from enhanced budgeting, cost tracking and reporting functionality. With this new release, Oracle is responding to customer feedback by including substantial usability enhancements while strengthening Oracle’s talent management offering.

“In developing the newest learning management release, Oracle was very receptive to our input on enhancements that would improve the product’s usability and make it even more applicable to our business,” said Nike Program Director, Global Organization and Leadership Development, Carol McCarthy. “We look forward to implementing the software and seeing the new capabilities benefit our employees.”

“Compliance, a dispersed workforce and increasing reporting requirements complicate the training and organizational development needs of many companies,” said IDC Program Director of Learning Services Research Cushing Anderson. “Learning management solutions must be effective for companies looking to mitigate compliance risks, lower training costs and increase workforce productivity and effectiveness.”

Across all industries, companies are facing increased compliance mandates requiring employees to adhere to corporate, local and federal regulatory guidelines. With the latest release, customers will benefit from increased automation and more advanced relationship tracking between various training activities, certifications and curricula. PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management also includes advanced reporting features for tracking certification completions, compliance and audits, increasing a company’s ability to stay compliant.

New to PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management is the preemptive notification functionality, helping to ensure that managers are able to keep employee certifications and training current. Support for electronic signatures also frees companies from relying on paper-based records for managing certification changes. Further, administrators have the ability to waive, revoke, expire and reissue a certification, making the process more efficient and cost effective.

Demand for disconnected learning has increased as the cost of delivering learning from an office or physical classroom has continued to rise, and as more organizations have workers frequently traveling or working from remote locations. With PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management, the disconnected learning capabilities have been extended through integration with BackWeb Technologies, a Certified Partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork. As a result, learners have the freedom to interact with the learning application and course content, regardless of the authoring tool, and while not connected to the network. Their progress and scores are then uploaded automatically to the application when they reconnect to the network. This enables the learning experience to be incorporated into learners’ day-to-day activities, thus speeding the learning progress for the company.

Advanced Budgeting, Cost Tracking and Reporting.

PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management now includes improvements to the budgeting, cost tracking and reporting functionality. These new capabilities increase an administrator’s ability to plan, track and report training expenses for both budgeted and actual costs.

Protecting PeopleSoft Customer Investments.

“PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management 9.0 is a feature-rich release that directly responds to customer requests for increased usability and automation,” said Oracle Vice President HCM Strategy Gretchen Alarcon. “With this new version, we are furthering the depth of our talent management offering and giving customers enhanced tools to cultivate a skilled and certified workforce.”

PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning Management 9.0 is currently available and compliant with AICC/SCORM standards. It is sold as a stand-alone product or as part of the PeopleSoft Enterprise application suite.
