appSmitten, the service that delivers hand-selected app recommendations straight to people’s inboxes, launched Show Me Yours featuring Larry Kramer today.

Larry Kramer is the founder and former chairman and CEO of MarketWatch, Inc. and is currently an adjunct professor of media management at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Kramer also sits on the Board of several organizations, including Discovery Communications and American Media Inc. Over the course of his career, he has been a senior adviser at Polaris Venture Partners and served as the first president of CBS Digital Media. Kramer also spent more than twenty years as a reporter and editor at the San Francisco Examiner, the Washington Post, and the Trenton Times.

Inquiring minds want to know what’s on Larry Kramer’s phone. “The apps on someone’s phone reveal a lot about their personality and how they spend their time,” said Kramer. “Flight schedules, getting to speaking gigs on time and making sure I know the score are all important to me and these are the apps that help.”

According to Pew Internet, half of adult cell phone owners (50%) now have apps on their phones. With more than 1 billion apps downloaded each month and thousands of new apps released on a daily basis, people are hungry to know which are the best apps and the ones worth downloading.

“Apps can entertain and inform smartphone users, but it’s difficult to find the good ones,” said Ellen Pack, co-founder of appSmitten. “To help people with app overwhelm, appSmitten launched Show Me Yours to highlight the favorite apps of celebrities, thought leaders and people on the street.”
